VIFPA Monthly Member Meetings are held in the middle of each month, in the middle of the week, in the middle of the afternoon:
Join us on the middle Wednesday of each month at 2:30 PM.
These meetings are open to all VIFPA Voting and Non-Voting members and guests, with the exception of the Annual General Meeting, which will be open to Voting and Non-Voting members only.
It is our hope that we will be able to return to in-person meetings sometime next year, but will take our lead from Dr. Henry.

January 20, 2021 - VIFPA Welcomes the CFAA on ZOOM
The Vancouver Island Fire Protection Association is pleased to welcome the Canadian Fire Alarm Association.
Please join us on Wednesday, January 20th, 2021, at 2:30 PM on ZOOM for an informative update and discussion on the Canadian Fire Alarm Association, with Suzanne Alfono, Executive Director. She will be giving us information on their educational programs, changes in the industry, and desire to work more closely with British Columbia to help improve life safety standards. Suzanne will be joined by Terry Lake, new president of the BC Chapter of the CFAA, who will offer information about changes currently under discussion in the province.
PLEASE NOTE: Pre-registration is required and the discussion is free to all members and guests.
Registration is required to attend this meeting and will be open until 2:30 pm, January 19th, 2021. Your EventBrite ticket will arrive in your email almost immediately. February 10, 2021 - VIFPA Annual General Meeting of Voting and Non-Voting Members on ZOOM & Apres Meeting for Everyone
Pre-registration for the AGM will be run through Eventbrite. Only members, voting or non-voting, will be allowed to attend the AGM, which will begin at 2:30 pm. Everyone else is welcome to join us at 3:00 pm for our regular monthly meeting.

You are invited to the scheduled Monthly Member meeting for The Vancouver Island Fire Protection Association, which will also include a vote on the Special Resolution for changes to the Bylaws to clarify various membership groups (Voting/Non-Voting/AHJ's). We encourage ALL members to attend and vote on this important change.
For those unable to attend the meeting, but still wishing to vote on the amendment, we ask that you fill out a proxy form and return it to firstname.lastname@example.org by Tuesday, April 13th at 4:00 PM. A proxy form can be found here: PROXY FORM
If you are a Voting Member of VIFPA, we ask that you request and review the incorporation and amended bylaws before the meeting by contacting email@example.com. The Special Resolution is as follows:
That the Bylaws of the Vancouver Island Fire Protection Association be amended as follows:
That the sections "Persons entitled to become a member" and "Membership Catergories" be
That the newly drafted "Persons entitled to become a member" and "Membership Classes" be
inserted as attached.

While the Special Resolution can be discuss at the meeting, it cannot be amended before the vote, which will require a 2/3 vote of those in attendance at the meeting. If a redraft is required, then it must be voted down and sent back to the Board for reconsideration.

• Currently Tim and Murray. May include 2 more as need arises.
• Responsible for the financial portion of the organization.
2. Membership Committee
• Accepting volunteers
• Responsible for membership recruitment, retention & membership benefits
• Likely combined with the Promotion Committee during early stages
3. Promotion Committee
• Accepting volunteers
• Responsible for providing advice and counsel on matters of Association Public
Awareness and Promotion.
• Likely combined with the Membership Committee during early stages
4. Education Committee
• Accepting qualified volunteers
• Responsible for providing advice and counsel on matters of Public and Member
Education, Codes and Standards Development, and AHJ Liaison
